Yet another lengthy delay since my last update.  Alas, here it is a list with some new shows.   I have added some shows from '07 and '08.  Have a few more to sort through from the end of '08 and will post soon.  Been a long time since any good quality Utopia or old Todd shows have surfaced.  I would love to hear one of those again for the first time...

There are no graphics or tray cards with my CD's.  No jewel cases are included. I have many other shows on CD, please ask.  I try to list the best shows I have from each era.  Everything is recorded on name brand media.  Please specify if you have any special media requirements.  I'm flexible and creative on trading for blanks or whatever (see below).  I usually ask for 3:1 or 4:1 plus postage on B+P (2:1 was cool back in the day of $2 XLII or TDK SA cassettes, but blanks CD-R's are so cheap now I ask for the 3 or 4).  It is entirely up to you to decide what you feel is fair - really.  Just let me know before you send something my way and we'll work something out.  If you see something you want, let me know and I will somehow get a copy to you.   Overseas fans welcome.  I've got a big collection and love to share it..

Look for the new for new additions to the list.

Here's a want list of mine if you're looking to trade (I know it's hard to find shows I don't have, but there's some other more obvious stuff that I'm missing):

Thanks for Looking!

7/1/71 - Todd and The Hello People - Sigma Sound Studios Philadelphia, PA
I had this listed before as filler with the 11/8/73 Fox Theater show. Here is the whole show. Source is the lowest gen known to exist outside the master that the record company posseses. The cassette copy we used was obtained from a staff member of Ampex records. This one has been booted and passed around for years - this is the best version you'll hear. Set: Intro, Believe In Me, Lady on a Terrace, Blues Song, It Wouldn't..., Rock and Roll All Day, Give It A Little Time, Broke Down and Busted, Love Me Stranger, Ooh Baby Baby, Hold Me Tight, Before I Grow Too Old, Be Nice To Me, Elvis Song, The Ballad (Denny & Jean). I guessed at some of the song titles... Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.9 (60 minutes - 1 Disc)

5/2/72 Todd and The Hello People - Ultrasonic Studios Hempstead, NY
This is an oldie but a goodie that I never listed, but have had for years. In studio performance of very good audio quality. Hello People back Todd on (and vice versa): Broke Down and Busted, Georgia Swing, Outside Love, Piss Aaron, Dream Goes On..., I Saw the Light, It Wouldn't Have Made..., Hate and Blaze, Lady on a Terrace, Slut. Excellent quality. F Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.9 (60 minutes - 1 Disc)

5/18/72 - Todd Rundgren & The Hello People - Aquarius Theater - Boston, MA
My CD's were made from first gen cassette copies of the taper’s mono masters. Earliest live Todd that I have. Broke Down and Busted / Piss Aaron / It Wouldn't Have Made... / I Saw the Light / Hello It's Me / The Place (Instrumental) / Lady on the Terrace (Tom Cosgrove vocal) / Georgia Swing / Slut. Lots of chatter from Todd. At the end of the show you can hear Todd getting roughed-up by Jeff Beck's roadies for playing too long. Filler is the classic 11/11/73 Cincinnati in studio performance by Todd and the Hello People. Paul Russo did the digital mastering on this one. F. Bubnick CD

CD RATING:  2.65 (62 minutes - 1 Disc)

1973 - M. Frog Labat - “M. Frog”
Digitally restored and mastered by Sandra Winters to comemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of this album's release. This source for this CD was an unopened, mint condition copy of the original vinyl (which, believe it or not, Sandra managed to track down in Denmark).  This is as close as you'll probably ever get to a CD release of this extremely rare solo album from an original member of Todd's Utopia. Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.9 (35 minutes - 1 Disc)

5/3/73 - Todd Rundgren's Utopia - C.W. Post College - Long Island, NY
Best sounding verison of this show I could find. Super early stuff in support of A Wizard A True Star. The very first incarnation of Todd Rundgren's Utopia. This short lived tour was plauged with technical difficulties (M. Frog played in some sort of geodesic dome that looked like a space ship with the drummer on top of the dome). The band dressed all in black and no equipment was visible on stage (much like the POV tour 12 years later). By '85, the technology caught up to Todd and they were able to pull it off with 4 man Utopia. The band: Tony and Hunt Sales appear on this one in place of Seigler and Ellman, Dave Mason (yes, that mysterious Dave Mason who is not THE Dave Mason from Traffic but the Dave Mason who played keys with Todd for a short time and helped to write Utopia Theme - put him the "Mystery Hall of Fame" with Doug Howard who replaced Kas briefly). Unique set: Dive Bombin', Utopia Theme, Black Maria, International Feel, Never Never Land, Tic Tic It Wears Off (rare, never heard this one before live), CIJTY, When the Shit Hits the Fan/Sunset Blvd., Le Feel Internacionale, Instrumental (no idea on this one), We Are Crazy (M. Frog tune from his solo album, only time I've seen it live), Is It My Name (rare), Medley of Greatest Hits (yes as far back as '73 Todd was making fun of his "hits"), Devil's Bite/Heavy Metal Kids/Devil's Bite (cool medley, have never seen Devil's Bite anywhere else), Utopia Theme Reprise (cool twist), Broke Down and Busted. It's really a cool show for the faithful. Paul Russo did the best he could on the digital mastering on this one. F. Bubnick CD

CD RATING:  2.5 (72 minutes - 1 Disc)

11/8/73 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Fox Theater - Atlanta, GA - “Retrorock”
Broadcast in the early '80's. Portions of this classic show. The show's tag was “putting the past into perspective” so it includes tunes plus what Todd was up to at the time ($2 million video studio, Deface the Music, etc.). The announcer comes on between songs to say a little factoid about Todd. Made from transcript LP on a great table->DAT->CD (with digital editing by Paul Russo & Sandra Winters to rid the CD of clicks and pops). This sounds almost as good as a commercial CD (I think in some respects it sounds better than the TR’s Utopia CD which was taken from the same show). Tunes: Utopia Theme, Don't You Ever Learn, Everybody's Going to Heaven / King Kong Reggae, Sons of 1984, Open My Eyes, Black Maria, Last Ride (thermo-nuclear guitar solo), Slut, CIJTY (cool original version). Excellent show. Perfect quality. Filler is the Todd only tunes from the 7/1/71 Sigma Sound show: Believe in Me, It Wouldn't..., Broke Down and Busted, Ooh Baby Baby, Be Nice to Me, Ballad (Denny and Jean). These tunes are from my 2nd or so gen copy from the master tapes...very, very nice. Hello People, piano, and Todd. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9 (67 minutes - 1 Disc)

11/11/73 - Todd Rundgren's Utopia - Counterpart Studios - Cincinnati, OH
Best sounding verison of this show I could find. This one is an oldie on the tape circuits but I never had a version of it on my list until 2002. In any case, in the studio very good quality recording. First Todd and piano/tape: Intro, I Saw The Light, Dream Goes On..., Piss Aaron (bleeped if you believe it), Lord Chancellor's (with tape backing), Hello It's Me. With the full Utopia band (by this time Ralph, Willie, Moogy, Frog, Siegler, Schucket - must have been a crowded studio): Utopia Theme, Black Maria, Hungry For Love, Ikon. Very Cool. F. Bubnick CD

CD RATING:  2.9 (56 minutes - 1 Disc)

11/14/73 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Massey Hall - Toronto, Canada
This is included for sake the completeness. We also borrowed a few tunes from the Detroit show on the 13th. Same format as the 4/17/74 Boston show - Todd with tape and on piano then the whole Utopia comes out for the second half of the show. Couple rare tunes here: International Feel, Never Never Land, Long Flowing Robe (rare, cool), It Wouldn't...., I Saw The Light, You Don't Have to Camp Around (totally rare - from Detroit on the 13th), Dream Goes On Forever (Todd mentions his never released album Rack Job), Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song, Hello It's Me, Piss Aaron, Wailing Wall (rare), Heavy Metal Kids, Le Feel Internacionale - that's it for the Todd and tape set. And for the Utopia set: Utopia Theme, Don't You Ever Learn (from Detroit), Black Maria, When the Shit Hits the Fan/Sunset Blvd., Ikon (shorter style version), #1 LCD, Is It My Name, and the finale from Detroit - Hungry for Love (super long jammed out version), and JOV. Overall a nice show. Some different turns in the set which is nice. Paul Russo did the best he could with the masters. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.6 (140 minutes - 2 Discs)

4/17/74 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - The Orpheum Theatre - Boston, MA
Audience tape of prime quality.  This disc was sourced from first gen cassette copies of the taper’s stereo master. A great companion to the 10/16/74 Cleveland discs. This is the Todd and Tape then Utopia part of the tour and the Cleveland show is the first with the whole band for the whole show. First 45 minutes is Todd and his tape: International Feel, Zen Archer, I Saw the Light, Dream Goes On, Lord Chancellor’s, Heavy Metal Kids, more. 2nd half is full band: Everybody's Going to Heaven / King Kong Reggae, Last Ride, Open My Eyes (rare), #1 LCD, and more. Great / Excellent Quality. Paul Russo did the digital mastering. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.75 (141 minutes - 2 Discs)

9/9/74 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Soundboard Recording - St. Louis, MO
Yes, it is from the soundboard. There's some crowd mic, but only at certain times (usually between songs). Born to Synthesize (Todd only WITHOUT any reverb, phase shift, etc.- awesome), Side Walk Cafe, Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Ikon Pt. 1, 2, and 3, We Gotta Get You a Woman, Sons of 1984, Slut, Do Ya, JOV. My copy is real low generation. An absolute all-time favorite. Perfect quality, it'll knock your socks off! 2nd Gen master->Mike Adrian's copy made in '76->DAT->CD. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (73 minutes - 1 Disc)

10/16/74 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Music Hall Cleveland, Ohio
Without question one of the best audience recordings I have ever heard. Clean and clear stereo with very little boominess to it. The recording is a little uneven in spots due to microphone movement, but overall very clear. The crowd is fairly respectful choosing to be mellow during the tunes and going wild at the end. The show however is nothing short of outstanding. You can hear between one of the songs the guys recording the show going "...wow what a great show...". If this show doesn't make you acid heads out there flashback, nothing will. Sounds like you're sitting in the 15th row center at the Music Hall which is more of an old fashioned theater type of venue instead of a boomy auditorium. This show sounds so good that local FM station WMMS broadcast it 10/26/98 as a part of their farewell month of concerts! It was the best Cleveland Todd show they could get their hands on from over the years. Imagine yourself tuning your dial to Utopia Theme on 1998 FM radio. It was major coolness for Clevelanders!
Set list: Utopia Theme, Don't You Ever Learn, Another Life, A Dream Goes On Forever, Real Man, Freedom Fighters, The Wheel (during which the recordists Cheech and Chong discuss their pot stash), Good Times Were Better, Sunset Blvd., Last Ride, Bass Ball, #1 LCD (cuts at 2:30), Night in New Orleans, Do Ya, Freak Parade, Born to Synthesize / Spark of Life, Slut, CIJTY (I love the version from this era).
Great / Excellent Quality. My copies were made direct from the original tapes. Any other tapes out there are sourced from my COPIES! This CD was Retro-Engineered by Paul Russo. Paul took my original tapes, converted them to digital, and utilized various Mac based professional editing software to perfect the sound onto CD. He did a very good job. Presence is excellent and the dynamic range is preserved without the hiss. Excellent / Perfect Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.85 (143 minutes - 2 Discs)

10/20/74 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Radio City Music Hall - New York City
Oh, boy this is a gem! From the tape vault of Donald Davidson come his stereo masters of a COMPLETE TR's Utopia show from their home turf! Hard to believe that this one wasn't dug out and digitized until 2002. There's one or two cuts for tape flips, otherwise complete with fantastic sound. Not quite as good sounding as the above Cleveland show, but this show is much longer coming in a few seconds shy of 3 hours! Also a little different than Clevland due to the fact that Roger's synths were lost for the Cleveland show and I think he had his rig back for this show. You can tell that the band had fun playing for this excited and enthusiastic sold out show. Here's the set:
Treatise on Cosmic Fire (taped excerpt), Utopia Theme, Don't You Ever Learn?, Seven Rays, Dream Goes On Forever, Real Man, Freedom Fighters, Synth Solo, The Wheel, Good Times Were Better, When The Shit Hits the Fan / Sunset Blvd., Le Feel Internacionale, Last Ride, Bassball, #1 LCD, Night In New Orleans, Do Ya, Freak Parade, Born To Synthesize, Spark of Life, Drum Instrumental, Treatise on Cosmic Fire (excerpt), Ikon, Sons of 1984, Slut, Heavy Metal Kids, JOV (about 1:30 only). Excellent quality, remastered by Paul Russo. Don Davidson CD.

CD RATING: 2.80 (179 minutes - 3 Discs)

8/13/75 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Spartan Stadium Portsmouth, OH
This one is a funny story. I had a master cassette that I got from the master tape and the guy who recored it. I sent my master to Hiroshi who sent it back to me and it got LOST in the mail. I sent him the only copy I had! Hiroshi sent a copy to Anthony who sent a copy to me on CD and that's where Paul Russo started to tweak this one. Very good show. Good sound quality from the audience. Star Spangled Banner, Utopia Theme, Sunset Blvd., Le Feel Internacionale, Freedom Fighters, Don't You Ever Learn, Real Man, Eastern Intrigue, Initiation, Fair Warning (cool as always), The Wheel, Vegas Medely: Sometimes I Don't Know/Dream Goes On Forever/Hello It's Me/I Saw the Light, Thechnological Blues, Mr. Triscuits, Something's Coming, Heavy Metal Kids, Open My Eyes, Sons of 1984, Do Ya, Couldn't I Just Tell You. I also have a "guest review" from Don Gibson who attended the show:
"The date of the Portsmouth show was August 13, 1975. It was an outdoor show played in Spartan Stadium which is your typical small town football stadium. Great show. It changed my life. I was 17 at the time. I went from full blown freak to full blown Todd freak. Todd came out and did all the tunes that ended up being on "Another Live" and "Nimbus Thitherward". He made some banter about Jimmy Hoffa being in the audience (he was missing at that time) and cracked on Olivia Newton-John (she being the dominant force on the airwaves at that particular moment)".
Great quality. Frank B./Hiroshi CD.

CD RATING: 2.8 (115 minutes - 2 Discs)

8/23/75 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Cape Cod Coliseum - Cape Cod, MA
My source is the taper’s stereo master. Cool show that was probably a warm-up for the European tour that fall. Shows from this period are pretty rare. Utopia Theme, Sunset Blvd, Le Feel Internacionale, The Wheel, Death of Rock and Roll, Eastern Intrigue, Initiation, Sometimes I Don't Know..., Dream Goes On Forever, Hello It's Me, I Saw The Light, Last Ride, Technological Blues, Mr. Triscuits, Something's Coming, Heavy Metal Kids, Sons of 1984, Do Ya, CIJTY, JOV.  Mississippi River Fest 7/13/76 is the filler from taper's master:  Happenings 10 Years Time Ago, The Wheel, Heavy Metal Kids, Boogies (Hamburger Hell), Hiroshima, Singring.  Great Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.7 (141 minutes - 2 Discs)

9/10/75 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Hammersmith Odeon - London, England
Same performance as "Nimbus Thitherwald" or "Open My Eyes" bootlegs. This is a copy of the BBC Rock Hour which features the stripped down TR’s Utopia. Luther Vandross is featured as a back-up singer as well as Roger on synth, Willie on tubs, and John Siegler on bass. Freedom Fighters, Mister Triscuist (complete with explanation of how the song got it's title), Something's Coming, Last Ride (burning guitar solo at the end of this one), Sunset Blvd., Wheel (great version), Heavy Metal Kids, Open My Eyes, Sons of 1984, Do Ya, and CIJTY make up the set list. Filler is from the 5/14/78 Bottom Line show: CWSBF, I Saw the Light, Real Man, Hello It's Me. Shows of this era are a rare commodity and this one is pretty unique. Perfect quality - this disc was made from the original transcript tapes distributed to the radio stations. Features some really trippy ping ponging and swirling keyboards. Sounds awesome - dynamic, great separation, sounds like a commercial CD. Much less hiss than the bootleg versions from the past. Sandra Winters did some additional work on this one. J. Hanavan CD with Do Ya and CITJTY added by Rob Farrish from the "More Another Live" CD.

CD RATING: 2.9 (72 minutes - 1 Disc)

9/10/75 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Hammersmith Odeon - London, England
Here's the WHOLE show from from 9/10/75 recorded in the audience! This is really cool and is the whole set! Utopia Theme, Sunset Blvd./Le Feel INternacionale, Last Ride, Seven Rays, Wheel, Real Man, Born To Synthesize, Death of Rock and Roll, Eastern Intrigue, Initiation, Fair Warning (rare and cool), A Dream Goes On Forever, Hello It's Me, I Saw the Light, Freedom Fighters, Mr. Triscuits, Something's Coming, Heavy Metal Kids, Open My Eyes, Sons of 1984, Do Ya, CIJTY, JOV. Filler tune is Real Man from the Old Gray Whistle Test. Allan Hawkes CD.

CD RATING: 2.7 (132 minutes - 2 Discs)

10/12/75 - Todd Rundgren’s Utopia - Den Haag - Amsterdam, Holland
Here's another WHOLE show from the '75 Europe tour! This is really, really cool and is the whole set! Utopia Theme, Sunset Blvd./Le Feel INternacionale, Last Ride, Seven Rays, Wheel, Real Man, Born To Synthesize, Death of Rock and Roll, Eastern Intrigue, Initiation, Fair Warning (rare and cool), A Dream Goes On Forever, Hello It's Me, I Saw the Light, Freedom Fighters, Bassball, Something's Coming, Heavy Metal Kids, Open My Eyes, Sons of 1984, Do Ya, CIJTY, JOV. Filler is Love of the Common Man and Tomorrow Never Knows Todd with Bourgeois Tagg from '87 and TR on Letterman from '90 Waiting Game. This one was recorded from the audience on a Uher recorder by my good friend Istvan. Good, clean mono. Line-up includes TR, RP, WW, John Siegler, and Luther Vandross-same line-up as 9/10/75 London/Nimbus show. Istvan CD.

CD RATING: 2.7 (137 minutes - 2 Discs)

Paul Russo did some digital magic on this one and added the bonus tracks. Excellent quality.

CD RATING: 2.9  (120 minutes - 2 Discs)

1/25/77 - Utopia - Oxford Polytechnic - London, England
Excellent audio quality and performance. Show is taken from transcript vinyl. Slight vinyl noise, but it's definitely not distracting. Audio is so good you can hear the edits.  Features: Communion with the Sun, Love of the Common Man, Sunburst Finish, Jealousy, Windows, Emergency Splashdown, Verb to Love, and Hiroshima.  Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.85 (57 minutes - 1 Disc)

3/13/77 - Utopia - Masonic Temple - Detroit, MI
Another great upgrade of a common show!  This one was freshened from the taper's masters in 2004.  Thanks to Tape Boy for lending the digital copies from his vaults.  See the '76 Grand Valley and '77 Masonic Temple show below for others from his collection which haven't been traded since '79!!.  Ra Tour show.  Set: Films, Overture, Sunset Blvd, Last Ride, Jealousy, Eastern Intrigue, Love of the Common Man, Seven Rays, The Wheel, Ikon, Emergency Splashdown, Freedom Fighters, Eternal Love, Mister Triscuits, Something's Coming, Death of Rock and Roll, Heavy Metal Kids, Hiroshima, Singring and the Glass Guitar, Utopia Theme, Couldn't I Just Tell You, Just One Victory. CD RATING: 2.85 (158 minutes - 2 discs)

10/16/77 - Utopia - Masonic Tempble - Detroit, MI
Low generation complete pre-Oops show from the audience.  One of those classic shows that has circulated forever in trading circles - THIS IS A COMPLETELY NEW VERSION FROM THE TAPER'S MASTERS NOT CIRCULATED SINCE 1979!!  Thanks to Tape Boy for the trade!  Digitally enhanced and cleaned by Paul Russo in 2004.  This one will knock your socks off for sure!  Here's the set: Intro, Trapped, Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Abandon City, Love of the Common Man, Back on the Street, Black and White, Crazy Lady Blue, Love in Action, Death of Rock 'n Roll, Communion, Sunset Blvd., Last Ride, Gangrene, My Angel, 7 Rays, Heavy Metal Kids,  Singring, Utopia Theme,  JOV.

CD RATING: 2.8 (134 minutes - 2 Discs)

10/20/77 - Utopia - Chicago Auditorium - WXRT FM - Chicago, IL
Incredible Oops era show with Todd capably playing the role of Guitar Hero. This was recorded from FM broadcast and includes Oops tunes: Trapped (with intro), My Angel (with Todd Sax solo), BTTB type tunes (excellent Black and White, Love of the Common Man, Couldn't I Just Tell You), AWATS stuff (When the Shit Hits the Fan, International Feel), T.R.'s Utopia material (7 Rays, Heavy Metal Kids, Utopia Theme), as well as Ra material (Mountaintop...., My Angel, and a whole tripping version of Singring and the Glass Guitar!). Set list: Trapped, Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Abandon City, Love of the Common Man, Back on the Street, Black and White, Crazy Lady Blue, Love in Action, Death of Rock 'n Roll, Communion, Sunset Blvd., Last Ride, Gangrene, My Angel, 7 Rays, Heavy Metal Kids, Love is the Answer, Singring, CIJTY, JOV (cuts at end). Really an incredible show. Utopia is at an intersection sampling all which it has covered to date. Zeppelin would have had a very hard time keeping up with this set on its tour of the same period. My copy is 2nd gen from FM broadcast. Broadcast quality was a little shaky, but it's a super show! Paul Russo did the retro-engineering. Great quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.75 (122 minutes - 2 discs)

11/29/77 - Utopia - Dayton, OH
This is cool, you're gonna love it. A BINAURAL show from the 5th row center. Remember binaural? That was the system that utilized microphones mounted on a pair of headphones. The intention was to record live events in the same manner that humans heard them.  The CD's were mastered by Sandra Winters from the original tapes recorded by Laine Harris. The binaural effect is very cool. It works very well with headphones or speakers placed very closely together. Sounds like the crowd surrounds you. Much of the sound was captured directly off of the stage. Sound quality is pretty good, it's the binaural effect that really kicks on this one. “Oops” tour set includes: Trapped, Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Abandon City, Love of the Common Man, Black and White, Crazy Lady Blue, Love in Action, Death of Rock 'n Roll, Communion With The Sun, When the Shit Hits the Fan / Sunset Blvd., Le Feel Internationale, Last Ride, Gangrene, Seven Rays, Heavy Metal Kids, Singring, CIJTY, JOV. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.7 (117 minutes - 2 Discs)

1978 - Todd and Utopia - Promo Disk
I think there's two versions of this floating around. This one features the following BTTB era tunes: Trapped, Abandon City, Verb To Love, 7 Rays from board source. There's also about 15 minutes of a pot soaked Todd and Patti Smith discussion. There are two edits of the live music included:  one tightly paced and one loosely paced. Paul Russo did the re-engineer. Vinyl source. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.85  (68 minutes - 1 Disc)

5/14/78 - Todd and The Hello People - The Bottom Line - Early & Late Shows - NYC
These gems are brought to us by Randy Walters. Seems that Randy took a break from his finals in the Spring of '78 to work on the Fedco recording truck for these shows. His souvenir was these two shows recorded from the board directly to a portable JVC deck onto Maxell UDXL I cassette tape. This isn't the house PA mix, but "...essentially a 'live studio' mix in an environment acoustically isolated from the performance space..." to borrow Randy's own words. All I can say is "WOW!". My CD's were made from Randy's masters played back on a $2,000 Yamaha 4 head deck->DAT->CD. You can't beat that. The differences in sound quality between these tapes and the BTTB CDs are pretty minimal. The cool thing is you get the whole picture here and not the cut-up mix from BTTB. These shows are probably in the top 5 shows that I have, period. I don't think I can emphasize enough just how great these shows sound. Incredible in every way.
Here's how the shows break down -
Early Show (Todd's Mom is introduced in the crowd at this show as it is Mother’s Day):
Real Man, Sometimes I Don't Know, Love of the Common Man, Range War, Love in Action, Never Never Land, You Cried Wolf, Unchained Medley / Book of Love (acapella Hello People), CWSBF, Black Maria (tape slows a little here as the plug was kicked from the recorder and the batteries wore down a bit before it was plugged back in), Don't You Ever Learn (cuts when tape was flipped over), Verb to Love, Dream Goes On Forever, I'm So Proud Medley, I Saw the Light, Eastern Intrigue, Initiation, CIJTY, and Hello It's Me, and JOV. Phew! But we're not done yet....
Late Show:
Real Man, It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference, Love of the Common Man, Lady Face (rare), Black and White, Never Never Land, You Cried Wolf, Bread (a fave of mine), Zen Archer (how cool - the stereo effect on the arrow shots are tremendous), Last Ride, Cliche, Eastern Intrigue, Initiation, Determination (very, very rare...I've never seen this anywhere else), Hello It's Me (w/Prairie Prince), and Love is the Answer. Just unbelievable stuff. A true "must have". Perfect plus quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 3+  (180 minutes - 90 minutes for each show - 3 Discs / Nice) )

5/23/78 - Todd and the Hello People - The Roxy - Los Angeles, CA
First nationwide simulcast of a concert transmitted via microwave. This show is the Roxy portion of the BTTB album, unedited. Classic show with Todd pouring his heart out, he's really hitting his stride. Set List: Real Man, It Wouldn't..., Love of the Common Man, Lady Face (rare - only performed live), Love in Action, Never Neverland, You Cried Wolf (with Wolfman Jack), Range War (with Spencer Davis), Bread, CWSBF, Black Maria, Don't You Ever Learn, Sometimes I Don't Know (with Hall and Oates), Black and White (GREAT version), A Dream Goes On Forever, I'm So Proud Medley, Eastern Intrigue and Initiation (with Kasim), CIJTY. Also includes the whole encore which was cut out of BTTB - Hello It's Me (which features Stevie Nicks singing harmony with Todd which was totally cut from BTTB), Hang on Sloopy, She's Gone, and Just One Victory. It's cool to hear what happens after Todd says "It's sing along night for the Woodstock generation" at the end of BTTB. Excellent quality-This is the best quality I've heard of this show and was made from a master cassette from FM. Sound quality is fairly clear and features great bass punch, highs are a bit rolled-off but seem to improve as the show moves along. J. Hanavan CD.

CD RATING: 2.7 (133 minutes - 2 Discs)

10/20/80 - Todd and Ian Hunter - The Agora - Akron, OH
Todd and Ian rip it up on this benefit for John Anderson's presidential campaign. This is the third show I have from Laine Harris's tape vaults. His Todd Squad had the Akron Agora pretty much staked out in the early 80's. Paul Russo digitally enhanced and edited this one directly from the master.  I have a buddy who's a big Hunter fan that says this is THE BEST sounding Todd/Hunter show out there!  The line-up for these shows: Todd Rundgren (guitar, vocals), Ian Hunter (guitar, piano, vocals), Tom Mandel (keyboards), Stephen Dees (bass), Michael Schrieve (drums) - Mick Ronson makes a guest appearance as well. And the set list: Do Ya, Black and White, Love of the Commmon Man, Once Bitten Twice Shy, All the Way to Memphis, Needles & Pins, Cathy's Clown, Eight Days A Week, Black Maria, One World, Bastard, The Last Ride, All the Young Dudes, Just Another Night, CIJTY, Let's Get On With It, JOV, Cleveland Rocks (Drew Carey should use THIS version for his show's theme!). Filler is a bunch of tunes from and audience master tape sampler I had: Last Ride (Hunter Show Atlanta 10/11/80), Eight Days A Week (Pier 84 7/30/82), There Goes My Inspiration (Pier 84 8/82), LOTCM (Chapel Hill 4/23/83), If I Didn't Try (Pier 84 8/24/84), Tiny Demons (West Hartford 12/27/84), It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference (Ritz 1/2/85), Style (5/10/85 Radio City Music Hall), Blue Orpheus (11/29/85 Charlotte, NC). It's a lot. F. Bubnick CD.

I also have a 10/11/80 Atlanta Agora show that is 80 minutes and kind of cut-up.....

10/31/80 - Utopia - Capitol Theater - Passaic, NJ

2/21/81 - Todd Rundgren - The Saturday Night Live Stuff
From an all time favorite TV performance comes this super cool disc! This can be considered the Healing companion that no fan should do without.... Included is:
* Interview with Dennis McNamara - WLIR 92.7 FM Garden City, NY. Couple of days before Todd appeared on SNL. A rare discussion of Healing album and the meanings of the songs. Cool stuff. My copy is made from FM master. Great quality.
* SNL Rehearsals - NYC, NY. Todd's soundcheck for that night's legendary appearance on SNL. Does an instrumental version of Time Heals and starts and stops Healer and Time Heals. Very cool peak into the performance. Very cool. Very Good Quality.
* Saturday Night Live - 2/21/81. Todd rips off two awesome tunes: Healer and Time Heals. Assembled for this performance only is an All Star Band: Ernest Carter (tubs), Mike Shrieve (from Santana on percussion), Roger (synth of course), Kas (bass), Ralph Schucket (on keys), Rory Dodd and Eric Troya (Jim Steineman side men on vocals), and Pat Travers (guitar). This band frigin' wails!  Awesome versions of these two tunes!
Quality on the WLIR and demos is OK. The SNL performance is Excellent. Sandra Winters did the mastering on this one. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.6 (The SNL is 2.7)  (52 minutes - 1 Disc)

7/3/81 - Utopia - Helm Studios - Woodstock, NY
Tight show, many cool tunes. Showcases a lot of Swing tunes. A favorite of mine. Another Chris Anderson recorded show - this guy can lay down live TR/Utopia better than anyone! This one was re-engineered by Paul Russo. He took my master tapes from FM and blended in a transcript vinyl rebroadcast of the show. The results are the whole show recreated from the best possible sources we could find. One World, Road to Utopia, Swing to the Right, Last $ on Earth, Set Me Free, Only Human, Rock Love, The Up, Love of the Common Man, Always Late, Very Last Time, Lysistrata, Back on the Street, Crazy Lady Blue, Time Heals / Healer (ooh, an all time favorite combo), I Saw the Light, Caravan, Love in Action, Last of the New Wave Riders, Love is the Answer, JOV, CIJTY. Excellent sound quality - soundstage is incredible, sounds like you're in the studio with the band, clean and clear. F. Bubnick CD.

8/15/81 - Utopia - Live at The Royal Oak (Camouflage Show) - Detroit, MI
The audio for this disc was taken from the commercial release laser disc of this show. Set list: One World, Road to Utopia, Back on the Street, Caravan, Time Heals, Wheel, Very Last Time, Lysistrata, Love in Action, CIJTY, Love is the Answer, JOV. Includes bonus tracks from the 10/25/81 Rick Derringer show, Love in Action and Hang on Sloopy. Sandra Winters did the digital editing, mastering, and audio restoration on this one. Perfect Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9 (66 minutes - 1 Disc)

9/81 - Utopia - The Agora - Akron, OH
Made from taper's stereo master. Same show that is partially contained on the 4/4/82 KBFH. Laine Harris recorded this one. CD's were made directly from his master tapes. This recording represents a very good example of what a live audience tape should do, record the event as it happens. You feel like you're sitting in the club listening to a live show, the ambiance and presence is incredible. Sandra Winters committed this show to disc. One World, Road to Utopia, Swing to the Right, Last Dollar on Earth, Set Me Free, Only Human, Rock Love, The Up, Love of the Common Man, Satellite Rap, Cliche, Always Late, Very Last Time, Lysistrata, Back on the Street, Crazy Lady Blue, Time Heals, Healer, I Saw The Light, Caravan, Love in Action, Last of the New Wave Riders, CIJTY, Love Is The Answer, JOV. Great Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.7  (105 minutes - 2 Discs)

12/13/81 - An Evening of Acoustic Music with Todd Rundgren - Northstage Dinner Theater - Glen Cove, NY
This disc was mastered by Paul Russo directly from Mike Adrian's master recorded with a Sony tcd3 and Shure mic positioned first row/center table. Recording suffers from some reverb in the hall, but is pretty clean. Want to hear a solo show without all the flubs? This is a great one from when Todd hit ALL the notes and remebered ALL the changes. Love of the Common Man, Cliche, It Wouldn't..., Too Far Gone, CWSBF, Tomita Planets Video, Viking Song, Lysistrata, Tiny Demons, Lord Chancellor’s Nightmare, Bag Lady, Drunken Blue Rooster, Bread, Time Heals, I'm So Proud Medley, One World.... Filler is from a solo show from the Savoy on 1/23/82 - When I Pray (only done on this tour), Compassion, The Wheel, A Dream Goes On Forever, Wolfman Jack (import version with Wolfman on vocals). Great/Excellent quality. F. Bubnick CD.

3/27/82 - Kasim Sulton - My Father's Place - Roslyn Village, NY
Kasim solo show from WLIR-FM simulcast. Great quality and performance. These CD's were mastered by Paul Russo from Mike Adrian's master tape recorded from FM. Includes: This Must Be Love, Someone To Love, White and Red, Roll the Dice, Sweetest Little Accident, Don't Break My Heart, Driving Me Mad, Move It Up, Just A Little Bit, Back on the Street, The Up, Set Me Free, Rock 'N Roll, Love Alone. Filler: mono demos of Rock and Roll Ricochet, This Must Be Love, and Prove It. Kasim asks the crowd to buy his album instead of Swing to the Right. Must have been the period where Kasim was “out” of Utopia. I like Kasim, I think he's cool. Listening to this show there is no question that Kas had a big influence on Utopia's sound. Really shows him trying to get out on his own and doing a super job of it. Nice to hear Kas taking the lead on every tune. Great quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (73 minutes - 1 disc)

4/4/82 - Todd / Utopia - Live from Boston and Akron
Todd solo stuff from The Paradise in Boston and Utopia from the Akron Agora. My copy made from King Biscuit transcript vinyl->DAT->CD.  Cleaned up and put to disc by Paul Russo. He used some cool digital tricks to reduce the pops and clicks from the vinyl master. Todd Solo Boston (from January of '82) tunes from piano and guitar: It Wouldn't, Song of the Viking, Compassion, Tiny Demons, Dream Goes On Forever.  Utopia Akron Agora tunes (same show as the 9/81 Agora show listed above): One World, Road to Utopia, Swing to the Right, Only Human, The Up, Lysistrata, Very Last Time, JOV.  Filler is the very cool 8/23/80 Belmont Park show with Rick Derringer from 1st Gen FM copy: CIJTY, One World, Bag Lady (solo piano), Wheel (solo), Hang on Sloopy.  A great combination of pieces. 7/30/82 - Todd / Ian Hunter - Deerhunter Benefit - Pier 84 NYC, NY
Classic one off show with Todd, Ian Hunter, Paul Butterfield, Al Kooper. This is the whole show and confirmed by a real Ian Hunter nut as the highest quality tape of this show that he's heard! From taper's masters. Do Ya, No Money Down, Heart Break Hotel, Lysistrata, Irene Wilde, Running Shoes, 8 Days a Week, One World, Like a Rolling Stone. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.70  (74 mintues - 1 disc)

  8/13/82 - Utopia - Pier 84 NYC, NY
From the tape vaults of Tom Cannon comes this great "Suits Tour" Utopia show. Recorded outdoors, this is really a strong recording taken direct from the taper's master. Infrared and Ultraviolet, Libertine, Burn Three Times, CIJTY, Set Me Free, I'm Looking At You..., Princess of the Universe, Swing to the Right, There Goes My Inspiration, Hammer In My Heart, Call It What You Will, You Make Me Crazy, Rock Love, Feet Don't Fail Me Now, Say Yeah, The Up, Bad Little Actress, Forgotten But Not Gone (Utopia Country!!??), Only Human, Road To Utopia, Caravan, Love In Action, One World, JOV. 9/5/82 - Todd Rundgren - BBC Rock Hour - London, England
Solo acoustic Todd from when he was really hitting his stride in these solo shows. Recorded 5/25/82 and broadcast state-side on 9/5/82. Cool set, a favorite of mine. A fine, fine set of music and a great performance. My copy made from transcript LP->DAT->CD. Made from a fairly clean piece of vinyl. Digital enhancements made by Sandra Winters. This one was run through the click and pop filter. Set list: Intro, Love of the Common Man, Cliche, It Wouldn't..., Too Far Gone, CWSBF, Tiny Demons, Bag Lady, I'm So Proud Medley, One World, Wheel (incorrectly called Hands of Time by the announcer). Perfect quality (50 minutes). Also includes 1978 Todd - “Rundgren Comes Alive”. This version on Onion Head Records. This is a very rare EP. Different then the other copy I have by the same name. Bread (Midnight Special 5/16/78-mono), Sometimes I Don't Know What to Feel (Midnight Special 8/8/78-mono), Never Never Land (Roxy Late Show 5/17/78), Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song (Roxy Late Show 5/21/78), You Cried Wolf (Roxy 5/23/78 with Wolfman Jack). CD RATING: 2.9  (69 minutes - 1 disc)

11/24 & 25/82 Utopia - The Country Club - Los Angeles, CA
USA Cable Thanksgiving Show. These two discs were made from my Evening With Utopia video (played less than 5 times), KBFH of this show from transcript vinyl, and my 2nd gen board tapes from both shows. This is a new remastered version that has not yet been circulated before February 2002, The show breaks down as follows (From HiFi VHS source):
Infrared and Ultraviolet, Libertine, CIJTY, Set Me Free, I'm Looking At You But I'm Talking To Myself, Princess of the Universe, Hammer In My Heart, Call It What You Will, You Make Me Crazy, Rock Love, Love Alone, Feet Don't Fail Me Now, Say Yeah, Only Human, Very Last Time, Road To Utopia, Caravan, Love In Action, One World, Love Is The Answer, JOV. Bonus tracks: Burn Three Times (3/13/83 King Biscuit of Thanksgiving Show), Swing to the Right, There Goes My Inspiration (ONLY version I'm aware of that Todd and Kas actually sing in unison like on the album - simply awesome one of Todd's best songs), The Up, and Utopia Theme all from board tapes of these two shows. Wow, that's a darn set list! The filler?  Why it's the '82 Todd solo soundcheck from the board!  Todd and the piano (no vocals) do: Song of the Viking, Bread, Drunken Blue Rooster, When I Pray, La La Means I Love You (with taped back-up), and CWSBF (most selections incomplete). A real favorite of mine over the years.  I've worn out the cassette I made from the Evening video. Paul Russo burned the discs and did the mastering. Excellent/Perfect Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.85  (118 minutes - 2 discs)

4/23/83 - Todd - Kenan Stadium - Chapel Hill, NC
From the tape vaults of Tom Cannon comes this great solo show from a rainy stadium in NC. Usual Todd solo show when he could still play piano run his cart machine and be charming at the same time. Love of the Common Man, Cliche, It Wouldn't..., Too Far Gone, CWSBF, Song of the Viking, Compassion, Lysistrata, Tiny Demons, Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song, Bag Lady, Drunken Blue Rooster, Bang the Drum All Day, I'm So Proud Medley, I Saw the Light, One World, The Wheel. CD RATING: 2.85  (76 mintues - 1 disc)

8/8/83 Utopia - Pier 84 - New York, NY
Very rare show from the a very short Utopia tour. Totally unique set list and performance. This CD was transferred directly from Mitch Haft's analog master tapes. Sound is pretty rotten. It's an outdoor show and the crowd is a little drunk. In any case, the set is amazing and the band is tight. Hammer in My Heart, Set Me Free, Burn Three Times, Real Man, Swing to the Right, I'm Looking At You..., You Make Me Crazy, Call it What You Will, Very Last Time, Bang the Drum, Medley: Overture/Communion with the Sun/The Ikon/Seven Rays/Singring/Iniation/Road to Utopia, Caravan, Last of the New Wave Riders, One World, JOV. This is such a great show I just had to put it on CD. Fair Quality. M. Haft CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (91 minutes - 2 discs)

12/1/83 Todd Rundgren - Headliner's - Madison, WI
Compliments of Weavil and Anthony Rogers is this classic Todd solo show from the board. Blows away any previous copies that were floating around in trading circles. This is what solo shows used to sound like when Todd would practice and really care about his performance (and in fairness, was 20 years younger). Set: Love of the Common Man, Cliche, It Wouldn't..., Too Far Gone, CWSBF, TEPTAE Video Excerpt 1, Song of the Viking, Maybe I Could Change (classic version Todd solo with the piano), Lysistrata, Tiny Demons, Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song, Bag Lady, Drunken Blue Rooster, Bang The Drum, TEPTAE Video Excerpt 2, I'm So Proud Medley, I Saw The Light, One World, The Wheel, If I Didn't Try (filler from 12/9/93 Caines Ballroom in Tulsa another classic performance), and WPLJ Interview from 1/19/84. Don't miss out... Great show. Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (113 minutes - 2 Discs)

4/8/84 - Utopia - Oblivion Live - King Biscuit Flower Hour
FROM ULTIMATE VINYL TRANSCRIPT. Broadcast 5/13/84. Finally, my favorite show from an improved vinyl master. This is THE ABSOLUTE BEST Utopia show I have. It is my super duper, all time favorite. And now, it is as close to perfect as I'll **GET THIS DISC** probably get. Recorded by Chris Anderson and mixed by Todd, it's a smoker. Oblivion tour show beyond compare.  This is Utopia at its pinnacle. They still cared and they play their **GET THIS DISC (this is subliminal advertising by the way)** hearts out. Itch in My Brain, Too Much Water, Cry Baby, Trapped, Swing to the Right, If I Didn't Try, Hammer in My Heart, more!  I got my ultimate copy of this show in the trade I made with WMMS FM in Cleveland in exchange for playing my 10/16/74 show listed here on the air. My source was the station's transcript vinyl played only once for the original broadcast on a nice table direct to CD. Paul Russo did the digital editing and ran this through the click and pop filter - the computer couldn't find any clicks or pops!   GET THIS DISC!!! Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 3.0  (50 minutes - 1 disc)

4/8/84 Utopia - WPDH FM Simulcast from The Chance - Poughkeepsie, NY
My all time favorite Utopia show. This version is taken from Lee Richey's FM master cassette on TDK SA tape. Features very nice audio quality and a great set: Too Much Water, Rock Love, Princess of the Universe, If I Didn't Try, Bring Me My Longbow (very rare, only time I've heard this one), Hammer in My Heart, Abandon City, Set Me Free, Lysistrata, Itch in My Brain/Love With a Thinker (taken from the 4/8/84 King Biscuit broadcast due to tape flip on the master tape), You Make Me Crazy, Swing to the Right, Very Last Time, Trapped, Caravan, The Last of the New Wave Riders, Crybaby, Love is the Answer (from 5/84) Chicago. Filler is a Rockline interview from Spring of '84. Very nice, very cool. Great/Excellent Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8 (100 minutes - 2 discs)

5/3/84 - Utopia - WLUP FM Simulcast from The Park West - Chicago, IL
This show was sourced from Rob Pluta's FM master recorded directly to a TDK SA tape using dbx noise reduction. Paul Russo decoded the tape and transferred to CD. This sounds AWESOME. Great bass and imaging. Too Much Water, Rock Love, Princess of the Universe, If I Didn't Try, Love of the Common Man (ultimate Utopia version in Paul's opinion), Abandon City, Set Me Free, Itch in My Brain/Love With a Thinker (this is the actual transition between tunes, not the edit on the other Oblivion shows I have), I'm Looking At You (But I'm Talking to Myself), You Make Me Crazy, Swing to the Right, Very Last Time, Trapped, Caravan, The Last of the New Wave Riders, Crybaby, Love is the Answer F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (85 minutes - 2 discs)

1/2/85 - Todd - The Ritz - NYC, NY
From the tape vaults of Tom Cannon comes this great solo show from NYC.  Love of the Common Man, Cliche, It Wouldn't..., Too Far Gone, CWSBF, TEPTAE Video, Song of the Viking, Honest Work, Johnee Jingo, Tiny Demons, Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song, Bag Lady, Drunken Blue Rooster, Bang the Drum, TEPTAE Video, I'm So Proud Medley, I Saw The Light, One World, The Wheel, Dream Goes On Forever. Complete show, very nice. Paul Russo did his usual good job. Excellent Quality. T. Cannon CD.

CD RATING: 2.85  (88 mintues - 2 discs)

Spring 1985 - Utopia - The POV Tour
Paul Russo used his digital studio wizardry to sew together the 4/12/85 Milwaukee show (audience) and the 6/6/85 (BOARD) shows to form a complete POV show. His studio work shows on making seamless transitions from one show to the next. The board stuff kicks and the audience stuff ain't too bad either. Overall a cool show for POV lovers! Play This Game (4/12), Style (4/12), Princess, Set Me Free, Hammer, Swing, Zen Machine, Mated, Mystified, Road to Utopia (all 6/6), Caravan (4/12), More Light (4/12), Love is the Answer (6/6), and JOV (4/12). Cool, cool, cool. 6/6 board is Perfect, and 4/12 is Great / Excellent. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (71 minutes - 1 Disc)

10/26/85 - Todd and his Eleven Voice Orchestra - A Cappella Live - Bismark Theater - Chicago, IL
King Biscuit broadcast of a great show! This CD was made direct from transcript LP to CD as part of a trade I made with WMMS FM in Cleveland. It sounds like their vinyl may have been played only once for the original broadcast. Includes the songs only and is edited to rid the disc of surface noise, clicks, and pops from the vinyl master. A very fine editing job done by Sandra Winters, great dynamics and soundstage. As close as you'll get to a live Acapella album! Tunes include Born to Synthesize, Johnny Jingo, Hodja, Pretending to Care, Lost Horizon Medley (Lost Horizon / What's Going On / Mercy Mercy Me / I Want You), Tiny Demons, Real Man, Honest Work, CWSBF, Mighty Love, Something to Fall Back On. Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 3.0  (48 minutes - 1 Disc)

10/30/85 - Todd and his Eleven Voice Orchestra - The Arcadia - Dallas, TX.
KZEW FM broadcast of a COMPLETE Acapella show. My copy was 2nd gen from an FM master. Sound quality isn't fanatastic, but it is a whole show and Todd's voice is in very good shape for the show (he was really blown out on some of the Acapella shows). Set: Born to Synth, LOTCM, Cliche, Too Far Gone, Song of the Viking, Johnee Jingo, Blue Orpheus, Pretending to Care, Hodja, Lost Horizon /Marvin Medley (the first time this one was performed was this tour), Tiny Demons, Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song, Honest Work, It Wouldn't...., CWSBF, Bang the Drum, I'm So Proud Medley, Mighty Love, Something to Fall Back On, Real Man, Love is the Answer. Filler is an '86 interview with Paul Shaffer. Great quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (120 minutes - 2 Disc)

11/11/85 - Todd and his Eleven Voice Orchestra - The Warefield - San Francisco, CA
A copy of this show has floated around in tapers circles for years, this here is the real deal.  From the guy who taped it (Gill) and his good buddy Don Bauer comes this transfer direct from the cassette master.  Transferred and tweaked by Paul Russo.  The audio quality always bummed me on the original version which we had, similar to the '83 Milwaukee Headliners show before the new improved version.  The poor audio of an obviously good source didn't allow the performance to shine.  That distraction is set aside on this new copy.  Set: Born to Synth, LOTCM, Cliche, Too Far Gone, Song of the Viking, Johnee Jingo, Blue Orpheus, Pretending to Care, Lost Horizon /Marvin Medley Tiny Demons, Honest Work, It Wouldn't...., CWSBF, I Saw the Light, Mighty Love, Something to Fall Back On, Real Man, Love is the Answer. Not a complete show, but very close.  As a bonus there is a second disc which is the soundcheck from '85 Warfield (Too Far Gone, Lysistrata, Play this Game, Tiny Demons, Cliche, It Wouldn't..., Drunken Blue Rooster, Blue Orpheus) AND the soundcheck from the '79 Waldorf show (Love in Action, The Ikon, Rock Love, Love of the Common Man, and Gangrene).  Excellent quality. D. Bauer CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (130 minutes - 2 Disc)

11/29/85 - Todd - Kidnapper's - Charlotte, NC
From the tape vaults of Tom Cannon comes this great Acapella show. I've waited a long time for a solid quality audience Acapella show, and this one fits the bill. Born To Synthesize, LOTCM, Cliche, Too Far Gone, Song of the Viking, Johnee Jingo, Blue Orpheus, Pretending To Care, Hodja, Marvin Gaye Medley, Tiny Demons, Lord Chancellor's Nightmare Song, Honest Work (Todd up and quits at the very end, drunk crowd is too noisy, ends the song with a "F*** IT!!"), It Wouldn't Have Made..., CWSBF, I'm So Proud Medley, I Saw The Light, Mighty Love, Something To Fall Back On, Real Man, Love Is The Answer. Complete show, very nice. Paul Russo did his usual good job with the remaster. Excellent Quality. T. Cannon CD.

CD RATING: 2.85  (92 mintues - 2 discs)

12/31/86 - Todd - Park West - Chicago, IL
As the story goes our good friend Tuntzer lifted the board tape the night of the show, copied it, and returned the master to it's rightful owners. I believe him. Here is a show that answers the question - What happened if Todd showed up for a show drunk? Good thing it's a board tape, this way you don't miss a note of any screw-up. For the faithful. Play this Game, Cliche, Too Far Gone, It Wouldn't..., Song of the Viking, Mated, Love in Action, Smell of Money, Bang the Drum, Love of the Common Man, Lysistrata, Drive, One World, Love is the Answer, JOV, Wheel (cuts).

CD RATING: 2.9  (90 minutes - 2 discs)

1/24/87 - Todd - The Cabaret - San Jose, CA
These CD's were mastered from Willie Keats master cassettes and represent the best audio quality I have from this solo tour. Play This Game, Cliche, Too Far Gone, It Wouldn't Have Made..., Song of the Viking, Mated, Love in Action, Smell of Money, Born to Synthesize, Parallel Lines, CWSBF, Love of the Common Man, Lysistrata, Honest Work, Compassion, Drive, One World, Love is the Answer, JOV, Dream Goes On Forever.

CD RATING: 2.8  (90 minutes - 2 discs)

1/26/87 - Price / Sulton - The Bottom Line - New York, NY
KROQ FM simulcast of Kas's solo project. Paul Russo mastered the CD's from a first gen copy from FM. For this one we have a special guest review from Sarah Merchant:
No TV No Phone: Killer drum solo. Where did they get that guy, he rocks!
Lights On: Kasim's vocals were great. Loved every minute.
Shana: This song really suits Thommy's voice. He did a great job
Something's Gonna Happen: What else can I say? It was great.
Reckless and Wild: If you heard this, you would know why I used it for my yahoo mail user name. I sent chills right through me.
Heaven's Girl: Perfect Kasim song. When I got the LP, this was one of my favs.
Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace: A song Thommy and Kasim did at school dances and parties when in junior high. Is there a way to get a tape of them doing this song and any others from back then? I would love to hear it. That is my favorite song from the whole show.
Set Me Free: They did a good job on this one but I am still partial to Utopia's playing. (great sax solo replacing Roger's synth)
Shotgun Shy: Cool performance.
Stories: (no comment, I guess... Sarah left it off her review... let's continue)
Drift Away: I never really liked that song too much until I heard this. Now I really like it. Funny, I was going through Chem. class singing it - no wonder there were only 5 people today! I think it sounded better by them than Dobie Gray. The last song (that I don't know the name of) was cool.
Stand: (This is the encore that Sarah didn't know the name of. I think THIS is the best tune in the show)

Filler is from a 6/82 audience tape (supplied by Mike Adrian) of “Give It Up” and “Cathy's Clown” (the Everly Bros. tune). Great / Excellent Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.79  (73 minutes - 1 disc)

2/3/87 - Todd - Wolfgang's - San Francisco, CA
These CD's are probably just as good as the Cabaret show. This is the last show of this solo tour. Tuntzer supplied the masters. Play This Game, Cliche, Too Far Gone, It Wouldn't Have Made..., Song of the Viking, Mated, Love in Action, Smell of Money, Born to Synthesize, Parallel Lines, CWSBF, Love of the Common Man, Lysistrata, Honest Work, Compassion, Drive, One World, Love is the Answer, JOV, Dream Goes On Forever (cuts at end).

CD RATING: 2.8  (90 minutes - 2 discs)

4/22/87 - Todd with Bourgeois Tagg - Condomania Show - DNA Lounge - SF, CA
Hilarious spoofs of some of Todd's greatest hits for this benefit which helped put condom machines in the clubs in SF. Lysistrata, You Left Me Sore (rare), Song of the Trojan, Ramses Man, Protection, Too Hard On, Love of the Condom Man, Scum World, Baby You're a Ribbed Man, Rubber's the Answer, and The Wheel. CD was made from taper's master with additional digital enhancements by Sandra Winters. Sounds pretty damn good for an audience tape. Filler includes an 11/17/87 performance of Love of the Common Man and Tomorrow Never Knows by Bourgeois Tagg (with special guest Todd) as well as Waiting Game (and an interview!) from Late Night with David Letterman recorded 2/15/90. Great quality. J. Hanavan CD/Digital enhancements by Sandra Winters.

CD RATING: 2.8  (74 minutes - 1 Disc)

7/30 and 31/87 Todd R. - The Palace Theater - LA, CA
I had a cassette of these shows back in the day and due to the kindness of Anthony Rogers I have upgraded my copies to CD. These board recordings sound pretty decent and Todd gives a good show. This was a promo tour around the time that Rhino put everything out on CD. Set Show 1: Play This Game, There Goes My Inspiration, Love of the Common Man, Too Far Gone, Song of the Viking, Mated, Love In Action, Computer Rock, Don't You Ever Learn, The Ballad (Denny and Jean), Hammer In My Heart, Lysistrata, Smell of Money, Computer Hoedown, I Saw The Light Instrumental Demo, Bang the Drum Rip Off 7 Up Commercial, Lost Horizon, CWSBF, Drive, One World, Love is the Answer, Wheel, Dream Goes On Forever. Set Show 2: Intro, Play This Game, Cliche, Too Far Gone, It Wouldn't..., Song of the Viking, Mated, Love In Action, Smell of Money, Born To Synthesize, Parallel Lines, CWSBF, Love of the Common Man, Lysistrata, Honest Work, Compassion, Drive, One World, Love is the Answer, JOV. Tour filler interviews from about the same era from WMMS. Very Good quality.

CD RATING: 2.8 (215 minutes - 2 Discs)

8/19/87 - Todd Rundgren - Late Show at The Park West - Chicago, IL
David Nemeth I owe you a CD....  Please contact me. From the taper's master comes a Todd in '88 show. These shows were solo Todd shows to promote the release of Todd's catalog on Rhino. This is the best sounding show I had in my collection from this tour. Todd does a lot of chatting during these shows. Very loose, fun show. Tunes:  Love of the Common Man, There Goes My Inspiration, Lysistrata, Too Far Gone, Song of the Viking (Todd takes a mulligan and restarts this one but he makes a great second shot pulling off the best verion of this one that I've heard, a lot of fun), Mated, Love in Action, Computer Jam, Don't You Ever Learn, Ballad of Denny and Jean, Hammer in My Heart, Mystified, Harmonic Convergence Thing (Todd and his machines for this instrumental), It Wouldn't..., Compassion, Drive, One World, Love is the Answer, The Wheel, and JOV.  From the August 20th show:  Smell of Money, Cliche, and I Saw the Light. Finally an interview from NPR's Fresh Air 8/2/87.
Cool stuff. Great/Excellent Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.7  (139 minutes - 2 Discs)

2nd Wind simulcast from WBCN FM. Includes the regular set plus uncensored Jesse and that great version of Love of the Common Man. 5/3/92 Utopia - Redux in '92 Warm-Up Gig One Step Beyond- Santa Clara, CA
Finally, the Utopia reunion. Anthony Rogers loaned his masters to me and Paul Russo took care of the rest. I think this is a pretty decent show considering the circumstances. I think the guys hadn't gotten sick of eachother yet and put on a pretty cool show. Set: Fix Your Gaze, Zen Machine, Trapped, Princess of the Universe, Swing to the Right, Hammer in My Heart, Abandon City, Back on the Street, Itch In My Brain, The Ikon (highlight of the evening), Play This Game, Mystified, Hiroshima, Libertine, Only Human, Love In Action, Caravan, Last of the New Wave Riders, One World, Love is the Answer, JOV. Filler is an interview with Todd from Japan from the Redux tour era. Very Good quality.

CD RATING: 2.7 (120 minutes - 2 Discs)

7/23/93 - Todd on Howard Stern
Todd promotes NWO on HS. Well, it's more like Howard pressuring Todd into 2 verses of "Hello" and "Can We Still" - but it's still enjoyable. Todd talks a little about his living situation as well (Howard has a fit about this). This version was taped from K Rock, Howard's home station. It includes all of Howard's testimonial ads that the rest of us miss outside of New York.  Todd's in on the ads too so it gets pretty funny. My copy made from FM Master. Filler is from '72 Swedish Radio broadcast of I Saw the Light and Dream Goes On Forever.

CD RATING:  2.8  (65 minutes - 1 Disc)

10/26/93 Todd R. - On Air - Tokyo, Japan.
Complete NWO show from the audience. Todd gets his act together for this show (after some technical difficulties early in this tour). He has something to prove (that the Pod works), and he does it... Set: Day Job, Love Thing, Pulse (cool), WWE, NWO, Feel Too Good, Bang the Drum, Time Stood Still, Property, There Goes My Inspiration, Lysistrata, International Feel (cool), Word Made Flesh, Facist Christ, Secret Society, Proactivity, Funny Song used as set introduction music, Love of the Common Man, Wheel (w/reverb). NWO show without the dancers and people on stage stuff. Great show. My copy made from taper's master DAT->CD-r. Excellent quality. H. Kawauchi CD.

CD RATING: 2.8 (100 minutes - 2 Discs)

11/22/93 Todd R. - First Avenue - Minneapolis, MN.
Complete NWO DAT show from the audience. Great show, great sound. Almost sounds like a board tape. Low crowd noise, great dynamics. Todd's a little more concerned with the Niners score for the first half hour, but they win the game in the end. Intro, WWE, Fever Broke, Day Job, Feel Too Good, Chant, Secret Society, WWE, Time Stood Still, Proactivity, Property, Facist Christ, Pulse, There Goes My Inspiration, LOTCM, Black and White, WWE, Day Job, No World Order, Chant (Reprise), Bang the Drum, Fever Broke, What's Goin' On/Mercy Mercy Me, One World, NWO Demo from FM, Day Job (radio version), Facist Christ (radio version). Original CD by Anthony Rogers, tweaked by Paul Russo. Excellent quality. A. Rogers CD

CD RATING: 2.9 (120 minutes - 2 Discs)

9/23/94 - Todd Rundgren - NWO Live - Bevrs Van Berlage - Amsterdam, Holland
Rebroadcast show which aired on 1/16/95. This show was recorded on a DAT from a nice Tandenberg tuner and burned onto CD. Then Sandra Winters got hold of it and tweaked it even further before she mastered it. Sounds great! Set list: Soundcheck, Interview, Instructions, Prelude, Day Job, WWE 1.0, Property, WWE 1.1, Cliche, I Want You, One World, Girls Hit The Stage..., Crowd Participation, No World Order, Don't You Ever Learn, If I Didn't Try (awesome). Still my favorite show was the NWO tour. Some people hate it, I love it. I had a huge plate of General Tso's chicken then walked across the street to the Gray's Armory in Cleveland for this tour - could you think of a more perfect combination? Excellent Quality. Lion Keezer CD.  ALSO: I now have a two disc set that combines the Lion Keezer CD with master tapes of the FM broadcast in the Netherlands to make a two disc complete show: Soundcheck, Interview, Instructions, Fever Broke, Day Job, WWE 1.0, Property, WWE 1.1, Cliche, What's Goin' On, One World, Black and White, Interactive Day Job, No World Order, Secret Society, Don't You Ever Learn, If I Didn't Try, Fascist Christ, Bang The Drum. Filler tunes are from cassette and not quite as good as the original Lion master, but makes a very good overall show...

CD RATING:  2.9  (70 minutes - 1 disc) OR (90 minutes - 2 discs) Your Choice!

10/7/94 - Live in Cyberia - The Forum - London, England
CD taken directly from laserdisc via the digital output. Top notch audio quality, sounds fantastic. Really a fun show. Set list: Intro, WWE, International Feel (Utopia is here in '94!), Secret Society, Property, Tour of the Pod / Girls Hit the Stage, New World Order, Chant (a fave of mine "...Be true to your own vision..."), Day Job, Fascist Christ, Bang the Drum. Perfect Quality. Paul Russo tweaked the Istvan transfer. Istvan CD.

CD RATING:  2.9  (66 minutes - 1 disc)

7/16/95 - TR-i - The Chance - Poughkepsie, NY
Woodstock Plugged In from WDST FM. Todd returns to the site of the awesome 4/84 Utopia show to tear it up with the four man "I" band. Recorded by Chris Anderson and mixed by TR. Black and White, #1 LCD, Cast the First Stone (NOT found on the mas bueno 7/18/95 show), Mystified/Broke Down Busted (cuts at the very end, bummer), Espresso, Facist Christ, WWE, Hammer in My Heart. Filler is from the sound check at the Trocadero in Philly from the I tour. It's a bunch of awesome blues jamming by Todd and the band, very rare stuff - taken from the taper's master. Thanks Brian Bernadini. Great show. If you have the 7/18/95 show, it's worth it to get this one too! Very Excellent audio quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9 (73 minutes - 1 Disc)

7/18/95 - TR-i - The Sting - New Britain, CT
Live TR-i on WHCN FM. This is a great show and has been a consistent favorite, a real smoker! Here's why: Black and White, Family Values, If Not Now, When?, Hammer In My Heart, Tables Will Turn, #1LCD (a fine version), Espresso, The I, Mystified/Broke Down Busted (smokin'! - 3 guitars goin' at once...), Woman's World, Temporary Sanity, Fascist Christ (ditto on the smokin'), Black Maria (the first time they played this one on this tour was the night before), WWE. Great stereo separation and fidelity. Todd picks up the guitar again and frigin' rocks. My CD made from a first gen copy from FM. The station used very little compression on the broadcast this sucker's in your face from the first tune on. Perfect quality. Mastered by Sandra Winters.  Highly recommended to you rockin' Todd guitar freaks. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 3.0++  (118 minutes - 2 Discs)

12/4/96 - TR-i - House of Blues - New Orleans, LA
This one was transferred from the high speed/higher quality download that was offered for a short time at the HOB web site. Solo show from the Individualist interactive promo tour recorded from the board. Decent performance of some of the rare acoustic numbers, real nice audio quality. Hammer in My Heart, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Love of the Common Man, I Don't Want To Tie You Down, Family Values, Tables Will Turn, Compassion, Song of the Viking, It Wouldn't..., Free Male and 21, Black and White, I Want You, Cliche, Mystified/Broke Down and Busted, The Individualist, Espresso, WWE. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (95 minutes - 2 Discs)

1/3/97 - Todd Rundgren - The Odeon - Cleveland, OH
I recorded this one myself from WNCX 98.5 FM! Excellent performance. There's some slight overload on Todd's mic for most of the show, but it's way better than an audience recording!  Here's the set: short Todd interview, Computer Love (opening music-most of song), Black and White, Hammer in My Heart (starts acoustic, breaks a string, finishes with the electric), I Want You, Cliche, Lysistrata, CD-e Demo, The I, Family Values, CWSBF (starts because the crowd is egging him on, then stops when he can't remember the changes), It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference, Too Far Gone, Compassion, Free Male and 21, There Goes My Inspiration, Story about Todd's new dog, Tables Will Turn (breaks between tape one and two about 3/4 of the way through the song), Woman's World, break, CWSBF (plays the whole thing this time), Dream Goes On Forever, WWE, break, and The Wheel. Fun show, loose. Todd plays acoustic, electric, piano, and his PC. Talks about the Browns, his dog, and mentions my hometown - Parma ("Moon Over Parma" from Drew Carey Show fame). Filler is from the 2/29/92 Star Guitar benefit:  Love of the Common Man, There Goes My Inspiration, Play This Game, Honest Work, Cliche. Excellent Quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (144 Minutes - 2 Discs)

8/5/97 - Todd Rundgren - Ballard Firehouse - Seattle, Washington
DAT from the crowd. Hammer in My Heart, There Goes My Inspiration, Love of the Common Man, Free Male and 21, CD-e Demo, Tables Will Turn, The I, Compassion, Viking Song, Mystified/Broke Down Busted, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, I Want You, I Saw the Light, Family Values, Woman's World, CWSBF, Black and White, Wheel. Show really focuses on the acoustic numbers, pretty darn good recording. Does get a little muddy on the non-acoustic numbers. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (151 minutes - 2 Discs)

9/11/97 - Todd Rundgren - The Long Island Brewing Company - Jericho, NY
Mike Adrian steps into the 90's with this fantastic recording. Mike traded in his venerable tcd3/Shure mic analog combination for a Sony TCD-D8 DAT machine and an ECM-909 microphone - we're talking close to $1,000 of recording equipment here. Recording position is the table front and center, seats 1 through 8. This is a great show in front of a small crowd of about 200. The sound is warm and very natural on the acoustic numbers, the best I've heard from this tour from the audience. The cu-base stuff is clean and without distortion, all around a very good sounding show. Set includes Hammer, Cliche, Lysistrata, CD-I Demo, Tales Will Turn, Family Values, It Wouldn't..., Song of the Viking, Compassion (very nice version), Mystified/Broke Down and Busted, Bossa Nova tunes with Jesse Gress on guitar - I Saw the Light, Never Neverland, Dream Goes On..., and I Want You (very good), Black and White, Free Male and 21, CWSBF. The whole show ends with Todd's computer taking a crap at the end of WWE, Todd screaming "you bastard", and finishing the show solo on electric. All and all a fine experience. Filler is the 6/3/82 Old Grey Whistle Test from English TV. It is an interesting juxtaposition of a recent solo show and a classic one, you be the judge. Love of the Common Man, It Wouldn't..., Too Far Gone, CWSBF, Compassion, Tiny Demons, Time Heals Video, One World, Dream Goes On Forever. Paul Russo burned the discs and did the mastering. 9/11/97 stuff is DDD! Excellent / Perfect quality. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (135 minutes - 2 discs)

10/30/97 - Todd Rundgren - Slim's - San Francisco, CA
John Hanavan recorded this one. A fine, fine show from the WAT tour. It's a WAT DAT from the audience. Caravan Instrumental, I Saw the Light, Influenza, CWSBF, It Wouldn't..., Zen Archer, Fidelity, Never Neverland, Love is the Answer, Espresso. Second set more straight forward: The I (with intro), Real Man, Lost Horizon, Eastern Intrigue, Can't Stop Running, Hello It's Me. Third set: LCM, Lucky Guy, Amercia Drinks and Goes Home, Born to Synthesize, I'm So Proud, Ooh Baby, I Want You, Dream Goes On Forever.  Very good recording, quiet crowd for the most part.  A real pleasant surprise....  Show reviews can be found by CLICKING HERE   J. Hanavan CD.

CD RATING:  2.85.  (122 minutes - 2 Discs)

11/26/97 - Todd Rundgren - Irving Plaza - NYC, NY
Mike Adrian pulls out the Sony TCD-D8 DAT machine and the ECM-909 microphone for the With A Twist tour. The mic position was on the table at the center of the balcony which provides for low crowd noise on same level with the club's speakers. Very nice sounding recording along the same lines as the L.I. Brewing show (9/11) with much less crowd noise and very good dynamics. The best sounding audience WAT show that I've heard. First set Bossa Nova: Caravan Instrumental, I Saw the Light, Influenza, CWSBF, It Wouldn't..., Zen Archer (cool), Fidelity (cooler yet), Never Neverland, Love is the Answer, Espresso. Second set more straight forward: The I (with intro), Real Man, Lost Horizon, Eastern Intrigue (!), Can't Stop Running (hot), Hello It's Me (wacked out, way cool rearranged version where each guy leaves the stage one at a time). Third set: LCM (solo Todd great presence), Inspiration (this is probably one of the best songs Todd has written - wish Kas and Todd would've song this in unison like on the Utopia album), Lucky Guy (solo again), Born to Synthesize (cool jazz version with all the goofy scat), I'm So Proud, Ooh Baby, I Want You, America Drinks and Goes Home (Zappa song), Dream Goes On Forever. Phew.... Perfect Quality. CD was mastered directly from the taper's DATs by Paul Russo. Show reviews can be found by CLICKING HERE   F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.95  (135 minutes - 2 Discs)

2/28/98 - Todd Rundgren - Universal Studios - Orlando, FL
WAT BOARD tapes on CD! Check 'em out, they're awesome. 80 minutes of the Universal Studios (it was a short all Bossa Nova set due to time limits imposed by the Marti Gras parade) and filler is from 11/26/97 Irving Plaza shows. Board tunes: I Saw the Light, Influenza, CWSBF,  It Wouldn't...., Zen Archer, Fidelity, Never Never Land, Hello It's Me, Love is the Answer, Born To Synthesize (band breaks into the theme from "The Jetsons" during the jam complete with Todd impersonating Astro the dog), I'm So Proud Medley, I Want You, Lost Horizon, Espresso. Irving Plaza Tunes: The I, Real Man, Eastern Intrigue, Can't Stop Running, Love of the Common Man, There Goes My Inspiration, Lucky Guy, America Drinks and Goes Home, Dream Goes On Forever. Not to be missed. Incredible fidelity. Sounds like the band is right in your living room. Check above for details on the Irving recording. The Universal show was recorded directly from the soundboard->MiniDisc->Cassette->CD. Show reviews can be found by CLICKING HERE F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 3.00+  (125 minutes - 2 Discs)

11/14/98 - Todd Rundgren - Ballard Firehouse - Seattle, WA
Fresh from the Channel Surfing with TR tour comes this audience DAT to CD transfer. Solo Todd with Jesse towards the end of the show. Features include an excellent selection of tunes and a fairly fresh Todd slugging out the hits. Intro (5 minutes of explanation), Love of the Common Man, I Don't Want to Tie You Down, There Goes My Inpiration, Lysistrata, Cliche, Incorrect Media presentation, Black and White, Free Male and 21, Compassion, Song of the Viking, Jesse Gress joins him on stage for bossa novaish renditions of:  Believe in Me (instrumental), Drunken Blue Rooster, Love is the Answer, Lucky Guy, Mated (very cool version), Bang the Drum All Day (cool "Lion Sleeps Tonight" rendition), Never Never Land, CWSBF, I Want You... Holy crap, what a set!!!  It's not over yet, encore: One World, Hawking (a very nice version, the only solo appearance of this on CD I do believe). Eyes tired yet of reading this? The filler is from the 11/13 show in Seattle. Audio quality is not quite as good, but here it is:  Hammer in My Heart, It Wouldn't..., Tiny Demons, I Saw the Light, Zen Archer, Dream Goes On..., You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. Amen. That'll do it for two discs chocked full of stuff!  Recorded by John Bronskill and digitally edited by Paul Russo - DDD!  Show reviews can be found by CLICKING HERE if you don't trust me... F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.9  (132 minutes - 2 Discs)

2/4/99 - Todd Rundgren - International Plaza Boston, MA
Direct from the board comes this super cool solo show. It was a lunch time gig sponsored by WBOS FM in Boston. All solo acoustic Todd. Good performance, not too many flubs. This one's really grown on me. I've listened to it a bunch of times. Hammer in My Heart, Cliche, LOTCM, I Don't Want to Tie You Down (nice), Lysistrata, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away (Hey!, a really nice version), Bang on the Drum (Todd on ukelele mixing The Lion Sleeps Tonight and Bang the Drum - really cool), CWSBF, Viking Song, Compassion, Free Male and 21, It Wouldn't..., I Saw the Light, One World, and The Wheel. I like it a lot... F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.95  (65 minutes - 1 Disc)

3/6/99 - Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band - Konocti Harbor, CA
Todd gets hired as the only guitarist on this Ringo tour and shreads it up. Instead of worrying about running interactive pods or demonstrating inteactive software he gets to concentrate on - playing guitar! Lucky for us Jack Bruce was on the tour too! Keep in mind that Todd's playing lead guitar on all these tunes: It Don't Come Easy, Act Naturally, Whiskey Train, Shooting Star, Sunshine of Your Love (move over Clapton), I Saw the Light (who did that one originally???), Boys, Love Me Do, Yellow Submarine, Conquistador, Hammer In My Heart, I'm The Greatest, The No No Song (written for my two year old?), Back Off Boogaloo, I Feel Free, All Right Now, I Wanna Be Your Man, Band the Drum All Day, White Room (uh, hello), A Whiter Shade of Pale, Photograph, You're Sixteen, A Little Help From My Friends. Line up: Todd on guitar, Ringo on being Ringo, Gary Brooker on keys, Jack Bruce bass, Simon Kirke on tubs, and Timmy Capello on being Timmy Capello. DAT from the crowd. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.9  (116 minutes - 2 Discs)

3/20/99 - Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band - Silver Legacy Casino Reno, NV
This was a shortened set from the tour. A few numbers are dropped but I think the performance has more energy than the above show. The sound quality is closer to the stage, but a little distorted. There's an idiot to the left of the recordist who keeps asking who everyone is at the beginning of each song. He asks towards the end of the show, "...are you recording the show?...". Guy must have been drunk, what an idiot. It Don't Come Easy, Act Naturally, Whiskey Train (Todd wails), I Saw the Light, Sunshine of Your Love, Love Me Do, I'm the Greatest, The No No Song, All Right Now, Boys, Bang the Drum, White Room, Whiter Shade of Pale, Photograph, Yellow Submarine, Little Help from My Friends. DAT to cassette to CD from the crowd, Paul Russo tweaked the sound. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.8  (85 minutes - 2 Discs)

7/12 and 13/99 - Todd Rundgren - The Roxy Los Angeles, CA
Super rocking first set + all boss nova for set II = The Half Twisted Tour.  Set: The Surf Talks, Fix Your Gaze, Black and White, Drive, Unloved Children, Love in Action, Hammer in My Heart, Hit Me Like a Train, Trapped, WWE, (bossa nova from here on) I Saw the Light, Influenza, CWSBF, It Wouldn't..., Fidelity, Never Never Land, Love is the Answer, Born to Synthesize, I'm So Proud, Ooh Baby Baby, I Want You, Espresso, Dream Goes on Forever. Taper's DAT direct to CD.  F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.9  (130 minutes - 2 Discs)

6/9/2000 - Power TRiO - King Cat Seattle, WA
Recorded by Andy Colvin direct to DAT using a $1,000 specially modified binaural B&K microphone. Sounds fantastic on headphones or your computer or anywhere! Super dynamic sound, no distortion. Great presence and deep bass. Yer Fast (And I Like It), Ikon, #1LCD, Trapped, Fix Your Gaze, There Goes Your Inspiration, Play This Game, Love In Action, Temporary Sanity, Mystified/Broke Down Busted, Buffalo Grass, One World. This one is edited like the old Grateful Dead live albums. There's breaks between each song (except Buffalo Grass and One World which are attached) and they fade at the end. A. Colvin

CD. CD RATING: 2.90 (67 minutes - 1 Disc)

I now have the whole show from DAT source (John Bronskill)!! A little different sound then the Andy Colvin version. Sounds like John was a little further back in the club then Andy. Whole show, 2 discs. Re-engineering by Paul Russo.

6/11/2000 - Power TRiO - Maritime Hall - San Francisco, CA
Another West Coast TRiO show! Pretty much a split between all 3 shows I have as far as sound goes. The all sound a little different, not necessarily any better or worse than eachother. Intro, I Hate My Frickin ISP, Play This Game, Love of the Common Man, Yer Fast, Black and White, Trapped, There Goes..., #1 LCD, Open My Eyes, Love in Action, Hit Me Like A Train, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Bang The Ukelele, Temporary Sanity, CIJTY, Mystified/Broke Down Busted, Buffalo Grass, One World, Ikon, Hammer In My Heart, WWE.

CD RATING: 2.90 (110 minutes - 2 Disc)

6/23/2000 - Power TRiO - Westbury Music Fair Westbury, NY
Mike Adrian does it again! His DAT and Audio Technica 802 mic layed down the whole show and it sounds great. Fantastic low end and good presence make this a must have. Best Power TRiO show you're going to hear! I Hate My Frickin ISP, CIJTY, Love of the Common Man, Black and White, Fix Your Gaze, Love in Action, Guitar Rap, There Goes My Inspiration (still can't believe that Todd and Kas didn't at least TRY to sing this in unison like they did on the Suits album, I think one of Todd's best pop songs), Yer Fast, Secret Society, Cliche, Bang the Ukelele, #1 LCD, Trapped, Ikon, Open My Eyes, Temporary Sanity, Buffalo Grass, One World, Hammer in My Heart, Surf Talks, WWE. Great show!! M. Adrian CD.

CD RATING: 2.95 (110 minutes - 2 Disc)

4/14/2001 - Kasim Sulton - The Bitter End NYC, NY
Kasim's the best! I think his contribution to the original Utopia was always under estimated. A very nice solo acoustic show from Kas. Don't Hold Me Back, Afraid Himself Himself to Be (Jason Falkner song, this is what Paul McCartney should sound like in 2001), Before She Was Gone, Set Me Free, Just a Little Bit, Sometimes Love is a Dangerous Thing, It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference (with Patti Russo), All the Right Reasons, Across the Universe (Beatles cover). DAT source from the crowd. Smash Mark CD.

CD RATING: 2.95 (52 minutes - 1 Disc)

4/27/2001 - Todd - The Canyon Club Agoura Hills, CA
Todd solo show from when he was on the main land for the Harry Smith tribute. Hammer in My Heart, I Don't Want to Tie You Down, West Virginia Gals (Harry Smith song), Cliche, Love of the Common Man, Compassion, Song of the Viking, It Wouldn't..., Free Male and 21, House Carpenter (Harry Smith song), Broke Down and Busted, I Saw the Light (Bossa Nova), You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Tiny Demons, CWSBF (cuts), SLUT, #1 LCD, Hawking, One World, Wheel. There's some cuts here and there as well as some mic movement throughout the show. Overall pretty clean recording. DAT source from the crowd.

CD RATING: 2.85 (105 minutes - 2 Discs)

7/17/2001 - Todd - A Walk Down Abbey Road Wolf Trap - Vienna, VA

Encore with Todd and H&O playing together: CWSBF, Rich Girl, I Saw the Light, Kiss on My List, Hot Fun in the Summer Time. Very good quality, remastered by Paul Russo. Marc Linovitz provided the Todd set and Richard Seiter provided the rest. The Linovitz portion sounds better than the rest, but overall it's pretty good.

Very nice audience DAT from Mr. Tom Cannon.  Solo show of pretty good quality.  Here's what you get:  Disc 1:  Lysistrata, It Wouldn't..., Love of the Common Man, I Don't Want To Tie You Down, Hammer In My Heart, Cliche, Tiny Demons, Song of the Viking, Compassion, Free Male and 21, It Wouldn't..., Bang on the Ukelele Daily, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, I've Just Seen a Face.  Disc 2:  I Saw The Light, Influenza, Can We Still Be Friends, I Want You, One World, Hello It's Me, The Wheel, Dream Goes On Forever.  Tweaked by Paul Russo.  Tom Cannon CD.

CD RATING: 2.90 (112 minutes - 2 Discs)

I also have the following solo shows from '03 which are similar in content and quality to the above.  All have been tweaked by Paul Russo:
7/30/03 Westbury Music Fair Long Island, NY
11/15/03 Dreamcatcher Theater Alpine, CA
11/22/03 Canyon Club Agoura, CA

8/9/03 - The Dung Beetles - A Walk Down Abbey Road - Atlantic City, NJ
There were only a few of these shows in '03 and this is a good one.  Well recorded from the audience.  This time we get  ex-Wings ( Denny Laine), Bad Finger (Joey Molland), Chris Cross starring as an aging, balding former rock star, Alan Parsons, and of course Too Od.  Set:  Day Tripper, Hard Day's Night, Come and Get It, Day After Day, No Matter What, Go Now, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, Rain, Open My Eyes, Hello It's Me, We Can Work it Out, Sailing, Ride Like the Wind, Eye in the Sky, And I Love Her, Games People Play, Back in the USSR, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Ticket to Ride, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Birthday, Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End.  Digitally edited and enahnce by Paul Russo.

From here on out on the list I don't do the reviews like I used to.  If you need more info on a show, set list, etc. please go to:  http://trconnection.com/tour

2007 - Todd with Kasim, Jesse Gress and Prairie Prince
Both of these were downloads from the internet.  Sound decent.

2004 - Todd Rundgren and The Liars
Todd, Kas, Prairie, Jesse, and John hit the road to promote Todd's latest.  All shows sound like MD source and I thank Marc Linovitz for being obsessive about getting me copies.   Here's what I have so far, all are enhanced and edited by Paul Russo:
All are 2 disc shows...

2005 - Todd Rundgren, Joe Jackson, and Ethel
Here's what I have so far from the recent tour.  All is probably MD or DAT.  I put notes by the better ones.  Usual Todd set, nice encores with Todd, Joe, and Ethel.  I still say they should have tried "Common People" from the William Shatner album "Has Been" that Joe does vocals on, it's a great track.  As always, all are enchanced, tweaked, and edited by Paul Russo:

2006 - The New Cars
I only have 2 shows from this tour, and that should be enough for me!  Both were digitally recorded and sound pretty decent:

2006 and 2007 - Todd with the Tony Levin Band Backing
Todd backed by Tony Levin, Jesse Gress, and Jerry Marotta.  Pretty decent Todd shows.  It's always nice when he plays with a band and can't fumble his way around a solo show.

2007 - Todd with Kasim, Jesse Gress and Prairie Prince
Both of these were downloads from the internet.  Sound decent.

new  2007 - Todd with Kasim, Jesse Gress and Michael Urbano

Excellent sound on these shows.

new  2008 - Todd on the Arena Tour

Here's what I have from the Arena Tour

new  8/23/08 - Todd, Denny Laine, Chris Cross, Bo Bice,  Lou Gramm, Greg Hawkes

Very nice, clear recording by Marc Linovitz.  Another one of these Beatles tribute shows.  Each guy does a few of their own tunes, play Sgt. Peppers in its entirety, then jam out on some other Beatles tunes for the encore.  Overall a pleasant experience.

I finally entered the 21st Century and can now make DVD's.  PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST if you want any DVD's.  All are from my "private stock" VHS masters and are at least a gen or two better than other things that have been put on DVD by others thus far.

TV Todd - Volumes 1, 2, and 3
Total of 3 DVD's of Todd from Nazz all the through to today (almost).  The older '70s and '80s stuff is taken from a low gen copy that I was made back in the day by a friend from CA.  I think the quality is the best you'll see of most of this stuff.  Some has made it to Ebay, You Tube, etc. but most or all of it was probably taken from a dub of my master at one point or another.  I got lazy and made screen shots of the menu screens.  Here they are:

Interviews / Rarities / Collections / Solo Albums

Todd Rundgren and Utopia - Rarities Volume 1
At long last, the much anticipated rarities collection now available on CD! We took the best masters we had from Japanese bootlegs, US boots, my personal collection (which included two or three copies of some tunes) and had Paul Russo digitally edit and clean them up to offer these tunes to you! And what are they? Umbrella Man/Special Interest (B-side Utopia), God and Me/Mad Men in Metal Machines (never released Utopia), Hope I'm Around/Baby Let's Swing/Say No More (super rare "Runt" tracks from pristine Japanese boot), Wolfman Jack (version with Wolfman on vocals), One Minute With Todd Rundgren, Hammer in My Heart/Something to Fall Back On (dance mixes!), Loving You's a Dirty Job (Todd and Bonnie Tyler duet), HEAR PSA, Call From the Grave/Four in One (Todd and Gary Windo do Kurt Weil and Thelonius Monk tributes), Mercy, Mercy (Don Covay tribute tune starring Todd, Gary "U.S." Bonds, and Chuck Jackson), Cissy Strut (Todd on Guitar), Tree Tips PSA, Jesse (from the '92 Warner Bros. promo cassette, live and unedited), Voter Registration PSA. Quality varies from track to track, but until we have an "official" release, this fan based collection will do the trick. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.7 to 2.9.  (73 minutes - 1 Disc)

Todd Rundgren and Utopia - Rarities Volume 2
Well, here's some more from the scrap heap of life.... First off is Disco Jets, Todd's only (never released) attempt at disco.  That's right disco! Todd and the boys lay down some funky beats to what Todd called "...Bearsville's big tax write-off for 1976...."  Tracks:  Disco Jets, Cosmic Convoy (song includes "cosmic" CB chatter, this is priceless), Time Warp, V.H.F., Star Trek (yes, it's a disco version of the Star Trek theme complete with disco high hat cymbals), Pet Rock (sounds like Fahrenheit 451), Space War, Rising Sign, Black Hole, and Spirit of '76 (Todd' s tribute to the Bicentennial-Patriotic songs and a disco beat). Next up is the instrumental only demo tracks for Deface the Music: Cyrstal Ball, Silly Boy, Alone, Take It Home, Life Goes On, Feels Too Good, Always Late, All Smiles, Everybody Else is Wrong, and One World (this version has the alternate lyrics). The balance is a bunch of radio ads for Ra, Oops, some live shows, and the funniest interview in the history of man from WBCN when an obnoxious caller gets a hold of Todd. Audio quality is pretty good for most of the stuff. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING:  2.7  (70 minutes - 1 Disc)

Todd Rundgren and Utopia - Rarities Volume 3
The third installment to Rarities Mania. The first batch of songs are the demos (solo Todd with his synth and sequencer) that Todd gave to the band for the 2nd Wind Sessions. 2nd Wind Demos:  Change Myself, Love Science, Who's Sorry Now, Smell of Money, If I Have to Be Alone, Love in Disguise, Public Servant, 2nd Wind, Parallel Lines (UAI demo), Parallel Lines (NH demo), Fidelity (demo). The next group of songs is from the '89 Night Music TV show featuring David Sanborn: Can't Stop Running (Night Music Band with Kas and Michelle backing Todd), Parallel Lines (solo Todd with piano for most of the song then the whole band towards the end), Gilbert and Sullivan song (Todd, Michelle, and Taj Majal of all people sing the different character's parts). Finally is a 4/3/91 WMMS interview with Todd before a show in Cleveland. F. Bubnick CD.

CD RATING: 2.7 to 2.9.  (74 minutes - 1 Disc)

“In the Studio - Something / Anything?”

CD RATING:  3.0  (59 minutes - 1 Disc)

M. Frog Labat - “M. Frog”
Digitally restored and mastered by Sandra Winters to comemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of this album's release. The source for this CD was an unopened, mint condition copy of the original vinyl (which, believe it or not, Sandra managed to track down in Denmark).  This is as close as you'll probably ever get to a CD release of this extremely rare solo album from an original member of Todd's Utopia. Perfect quality.
Jean-Yves Labat - Transition #1/Underwater Electronic Orchestra
Hey, I've got both versions of this M. Frog gem the N. American and European versions. U-Boat, Le Voyeur, Flight of the Kromak 3, Subtronick, Cash, U.S.A., Matrix 16, Transition #1. Underwater features the above tunes plus Little Drummer Boy and Orbit.
Nazz
I've got all the Stewkey releases from Japan, Super Rare Nazz (trade only), 20/20 Hindsight boot, Retrospective Foresight boot. I've got more stuff than I know what to do on Nazz...
Kasim
I've got the Kasim and Price Sulton LP's on CD's. They are both now available at:
The TR Bazaar and I think Kas gets a cut. Go check them out!
